OSKR has dropped 'Control' - the first single from his forthcoming self-titled EP due out early 2014.
Melbourne based producer OSKR is a musician rightfully belonging to the heroic, elite spread of artists who are keeping experimental electronica alive and interesting. Alongside the details of his forthcoming debut EP, he has released the first single - 'Control'.
Offered as a free digital download, OSKR has released the track in this way to protect the clubs from the influx of "juice heads" and "wigglers". Maintaing a lifespan of six and a half minutes, 'Control' unzips with a metallic synthline casting a shadow over an indecisive, wobbly backdrop; inclining and falling in a very slow yet graceful manner.
This contrast hangs around for the entirety of the song, as other samples, percussion, beats and lyrics expose themselves in the unfolding of the song. Due to these different sounds working both with and against each other, OSKR's 'Control' has proven to be quite the mysterious track incorporating a variety of themes and elements in the most tasteful way.
