With FIDLAR coming down to Australia for Splendour In The Grass, everybody has gotten a little excited. We had a little chat with them earlier on in the year, and the LA surf-punk boys kind of made us fall in love with them.

Their debut album was released in February and blew everyone away, hence the reason why we wanted them over in Australia for one of our most popular music festivals.

Their track 'No Waves' is one of their more laid-back efforts. The distorted vocals are a lot softer than usual, and the guitars are light with a slight crunch. The music video for 'No Waves' is a lot more interesting though. A DIY feel floats on throughout the video, starting off with some early eighties footage on a screen that mimics a television that is constantly losing reception. A cheesy sitcom piece ensues once the television is running smoothy, and the visuals are generally hilarious.

The lyrical content however, is actually quite dark. We asked the boys about the lyrics to 'No Waves' in our interview and they simply replied,

"It’s about rehab and when people, in general, try to help you by asking how you feel, and to be honest sometimes you feel like getting fucked up."

So why am I telling you all this about a track that was released quite a while ago? Because now you can get 'No Waves' for free through Sailor Jerry's Facebook page!  The free download is in celebrating FIDLAR's Australian festival appearances and their various sideshows that have been announced. if you haven't heard the news yet, the dates are below.
