Album Review: Frankie Ballard - Sunshine & Whiskey

Sunshine & Whiskey is tough to place. On one hand, Frankie Ballard is a dreamboat all-American country superstar, and his #1 single, Helluva Life is testament to the well oiled machine behind him (for cheap lolz, watch the film clip). On the other, there are some quality country tunes on this record, the sun-streaked title track or reflective Don't You Wanna Fall just two examples of someone with a few more layers than the aforementioned film clip might suggest. For an introduction to the modern-day country genre, you could do a lot worse than Frankie Ballard.
