Frank Ocean has released another visual treat and it’s loaded with enough triangles, video game references and John Mayer cameos to keep any hipster happy

He’s Odd Future’s crooner; the RnB wildcard that the indie world has taken under it’s wing, like influencers Jay-Z and Kanye West before him. Now, FRANK OCEAN has released another visual treat for lovers of channel ORANGE, and it’s loaded with enough triangles, video game references and John Mayer cameos to keep any nostalgic hipster happy.

The video for Pyramids, directed by Nabil Elderkin, is true to the aesthetic legacy that Ocean has built for himself: it explores visual themes seen previous videos for ‘Swim Good’ and ‘Novacane’ (also directed by Elderkin) in dazed, hallucinogenic scenes, amounting to a play on the cash, thugs and hoes staples of modern RnB music videos and presenting a darker and more grounded image of the lifestyle otherwise glorified by Ocean’s genre.

Nabil and Ocean will collaborate again on the forthcoming video for ‘Thinkin ‘Bout You’.
