More Fair Maiden More Fair Maiden

Fair Maiden is a hauntingly sparse collection of melancholic meanderings concocted by Adelaide ethereal musician Ellen Carey (Jemima Jemima/Clue To Kalo). She introduces strong local collaborators to realise her sound (Stephanie Crase, Liam Kenny, Joel Carey), which ebbs and flows from the Warpaint chants and calls of India and the excellent Sad Song, to the faux Christian battle cry, Lord, and the country bounce of Wait For You. The second half picks up momentum and drive, yet Carey’s mesmeric voice is always front and centre, anchoring the eclecticism effortlessly.
