We've been lucky enough to premiere YesYou's remix of Hungry Kids Of Hungary's 'Twin Cities', originally found on their brand new sophomore album!
As HUNGRY KIDS OF HUNGARY have just released their sophomore record, You're A Shadow, their Brisbane buds YESYOU have gotten their hands on the track 'Twin Cities' and have completely remixed it to make it their own. In saying that, we're really excited to announce its release, as we've been lucky enough to feature the new track before anyone else!
With HKOH's new album debuting at the 18th spot of the Aria Charts, they've been gaining a lot of recognition as of late, scoring high rotation on Triple J, not to mention are just about to head off to tour the new record, kicking off this Friday at the Hi-Fi in Sydney!
With all of this excitement in full swing, it's worthy to note YesYou's growing popularity also! Last November they released their debut, self-titled EP, containing the well-regarded track 'Frivolous Life', featuring vocals by Marcus Azon, as well as their track 'Half Of It'. Both of these songs and their newer single 'Amsterdam' are in the midst of a pretty good run of air play at the moment. The duo are also gearing up to travel with Midnight Juggernauts on their exciting East Coast tour!

So with all this in mind, it's pretty damn exciting to have one booming duo engage with another respected Brisbane band's track.
'Twin Cities' was originally fuelled by a dominant piano & vocals, as well as a ruffled drum beat supported by some friendly, almost shy guitars. Comparing this with YesYou's remix makes the two versions seem completely different, as the duo have given the track an electronic edge.
A remix very gentle and playful, this version relies on a simple synth pattern to carry it throughout, until the track reaches its hook. This is where the track inherits the guitars found in HKOH's original version.
The same kind of electronic vibe gathered from artists like Fishing, YesYou's remix of 'Twin Cities' is colourful and pleasant, which goes well with the track's repeated line, "I really don't mind if you're having a good time."
