Album Review: Essaie Pas - Demain Est Une Autre Nuit

One of a number of unconnected acts breathing life back into the cybernetic lungs of '80s goth-disco, husband and wife team Essaie Pas, or "don't try" in their native French Canadian tongue, make their DFA debut with a title that translates as Tomorrow Is Another Night.

Ranging from the urgent electro-pop of standout Le Port du Masque Est de Rigueur to the stripped down retro-techno with seductive film noir undertones found on the likes of Facing the Music, Demain Est Une Autre Nuit is a fine example of 21st Century future-primitivism.
