Live Review: WATCH: Ego x Modular Video Mixtape

So here at Purple Sneakers we love the mixtapes that come out of all of our favourite artists and I’m sure you love them too, but what about video mixtapes?

The first live video performance I ever saw was NAYSAYER & GILSUN at Groovin’ the Moo 2012. Needless to say, I didn’t stop dancing during the entire set.

“A true pioneer in bringing together technology and entertainment, Ego’s hallmark brand of video production has gained hundreds of thousands of online views and kept him in high demand from industry and fans alike,” says EGO’S Facebook page and the description is pretty much dead on. EGO’s live shows are known to be like an electronic wonderland with his visuals taking over the show, and now that he's caught the attention of Modular Records!

With tracks and remixes from JESSIE WARE , SBTRKT, DESTINY’S CHILD, THE PRESETS and RUFUS + visuals featuring Kim Jon Un, Charlie Sheen’s ‘winning’ interview, classic films, political speeches and fish in our own ocean. It’s a crazy audio visual experience and EGO has kind of tripped me out a little, which I guess is why he named the tape “A Visual Trip”.

The explosion of colour and line would make anyone trip out I think and I suggest playing EGO and Modular’s “A Visual Trip” at your next party. Imagine your friends dancing with this in the background, it would be amazing and you know it!
