Album Review: Drug Church - Hit Your Head

New York punks Drug Church quickly follow up incendiary live shows and their Swell EP with a second album, which supersedes everything that has come before it.

Possibly even more anxious yet aggressive, Hit Your Head espouses harassment, hard knocks, hard times. There are moments of alt-rock melody on tracks like Bagged and Drunk Tank, but vocalist Patrick Kindlon manages to tread the line of similar timbred screamers such as Fucked Up's Damian Abraham and Helms Alee's Ben Verellen in imbuing pathos, anger and maniacal glee in a moment's desperate roar.
