That kid in The You Am I is nothing less than a consummate pop fan. This – which is really on one face of his myriad influences – lands variously between turn of the '80s buzzy synth pop and some bedroom Pink Floyd, among others. In parts it wobbles around, then straightens up as it remembers pop has choruses that'll stick in your head. Songs range from two minutes to over nine, but they're never not his, and never not put together with enough offhanded care to make you lose your curiosity.
