"Muggleton showed a lot of potential as a newcomer into the Sydney Comedy Festival."
Daniel Muggleton’s show Son Of Parents goes down the well-worn track of a young, upper-middle-class guy sharing his insights into the upper-middle-class life he has lived.
Muggleton managed to elicit a handful of genuine laughs from the audience; however, some of his anecdotes were a little lacklustre. A plausible solution could be focusing less on his own life experiences (a joke about a chipped tooth doesn’t get funnier after the fourth mention) and more on the quirks and ticks of his parental unit.
While Son Of Parents may have been more effective had it been a shorter show, Muggleton showed a lot of potential as a newcomer into the Sydney Comedy Festival.
