Album Review: Dan Sultan - OpenLive Live From The National Theatre Melbourne

StarStarStarStarHalf Star

"Dan Sultan is smoother than a baby's bottom after a soak in a milk bath."

More Dan Sultan Dan Sultan Profile

Dan Sultan is smoother than a baby's bottom after a soak in a milk bath.

The charm in his voice covered the mostly raw accompaniment of a dirty, echoey solo electric guitar and stage banter between tunes. Highlights include On The Leffy, Old Fitzroy and Crazy, although the whole set sits well as a turn-on-and-tune-out escape. Somewhere between rock, folk, country and blues, Sultan is a national bloody treasure, and this live album is just showing off. Make sure you buy the record for yourself, or for someone you want to take to his next live show.
