Album Review: Dada Ono - Granny Loves Smith

StarStarStarHalf Star

"Ranger appears to have a deep well of talent to draw on."

More Dada Ono Dada Ono Profile

There's an element of The Go-Betweens in Dada Ono's finely crafted songs.

Dada Ono continues to revolve around the aptitudes of singer/writer/multi-instrumentalist Nik Ranger, whose evocative electric violin adds a cutting edge to their sound. There's plenty of dreamy alternative-pop here, but the spikey drama of Don't Wanna Spend My Money is a good countermeasure, confirming that Ranger appears to have a deep well of talent to draw on.
