The ex-Men At Work front man has always included a huge chunk of comedy in his ‘music’ gigs so it was pretty simple to flip things and label it a comedy show.
With his relaxed manner and self-deprecating humour Colin Hay recounted stories from his life and career. Some were bizarre (being dressed by Ringo) whilst others were poignant (memories of his late parents). Hays spot-on timing and delivery perfectly matched the earnest, thought provoking emotion of his songs which were interspersed throughout, with old favourites and a few new ones getting a work out. Combined, it was a hugely uplifting performance.
