There's generally a limit on how big an acoustic project can go, but Chris Gibbs has taken great joy in blitzing right on through with his tightly-packed new album, Big Appetite. A raunchy offering of rock songs lacking rhythm sections, Big Appetite hits you like a friend whacking you across the chops with a soggy foam pool-noodle. The songs feel weighted and cruise with this fantastic classic American rock vibe, but they're such standard tracks you can't help but wonder why the hell they left out the drums.
