Album Review: Chaos Divine - Colliding Skies

"It’s about a minute in that those crunching riffs and juxtaposed double-time hi-hat grooves really cement their purpose, filling the listener with intent."

Colliding Skies takes until third track, Landmines, to really get into full swing.

It’s about a minute in that those crunching riffs and juxtaposed double-time hi-hat grooves really cement their purpose, filling the listener with intent. The album really picks up intensity two tracks later in Painted With Grey, pulling you in superbly with intense vocals and bone-jarring riffs. It’s a good precursor to the ecliptic guitar solo in The Shepherd. The latter half of the record sees the tumultuously groovy opening riff to Soldiers. A well-defined concept album!
