"'Easy to get into, even easier to get lost in."
A four-man Mancunian jamboree led by Oli Bayston, Boxed In’s debut is something of a sonic TARDIS.
It sounds longer than its 43 minutes, bigger than a four-piece, more scopic than the mere electropop genre it’s being touted as. Hipster-popsters Vampire Weekend are too simple a comparison with the peppilly kitch Lo Life or Mystery, but the slightly paranoid daydreams False Alarm and Subtle Knife and the utterly superb All Your Love Is Gone suggest a dream marriage of Django Django and Secret Machines. Boxed In is easy to get into, even easier to get lost in.
