Album Review: Booka Shade - Galvany Street

StarStarHalf Star

"No amount of production nous can disguise the pedestrian songwriting and lack of character in Walker's performance."

More Booka Shade Booka Shade

Despite having had considerably more success with their immaculate dance productions, Booka Shade once again pursue their love of pop.

Craig Walker — former vocalist from Brit band Archive, who were successful in Europe and virtually unknown everywhere else — contributes to seven of the album's songs, making Galvany Street a cohesive work; something like a genuine meeting of minds. But as much as one might wish that the German duo's persistence would pay off, no amount of production nous can disguise the pedestrian songwriting and lack of character in Walker's performance.
