III is likely the group’s finest album highlight, CC, featuring none other than Savages’ Jehnny Beth, is a career fine point, yet the record frustratingly fails to push the band’s sound further than before.

More Bo Ningen More Bo Ningen

Following their Big Day Out appearances, Japanese punk rockers Bo Ningen have had their aptly titled third album fast-track released locally. From the opening one-two punch of DaDaDa and Psychedelic Misemono Goya (Reprise), it's clear that little has changed – and that may be for the better. The group still blend an intoxicating mix of speedy punk, groovy math rock and spaced-out psychedelic jams. III is likely the group's finest album highlight, CC, featuring none other than Savages' Jehnny Beth, is a career fine point, yet the record frustratingly fails to push the band's sound further than before.
