Album Review: Bleached - Can You Deal?

Los Angeles band Bleached yet again demonstrate their talent for delivering catchy pop melodies with a punk attitude and real sense of authenticity on their latest EP Can You Deal?.

On the title track, a response to the incessant gender-based labelling of Bleached as female-fronted and a girl band, they ask, "Yeah I'm a girl and I play in a band, can you deal?" Although the group continue to serve a more hi-fi, polished sound than heard on their early EPs, they retain their edge with Jennifer Clavin's commanding vocals and the fast-paced driving instrumentals led by her sister Jessica.
