As a modern-day musician that has always tended to lean towards vintage inclinations, Ben Harper pairing up with blues harp legend Charlie Musselwhite again is absolutely no surprise.

The album revisits old, classic blues territory, but brings a modern vibe with the production and context. Where these songs could have been sung about struggles decades ago, the layout is crystal clear and the subject matter has been superimposed onto contemporary America. Harper's guitar and voice are, as always, delivered with great aplomb and skill, but it's his ear that is the most impressive. Musselwhite is infallible.
