It’s inevitable a certain demographic will eat this up, yet anyone with any semblance of a critical ear will find boredom and lethargy before any pleasure.

More Beartooth More Beartooth

Former crabcore and Attack Attack! frontman Caleb Shomo's first attempt at credible music, Beartooth, is a surprisingly listenable effort. Neat and mean hardcore punk riffs and constant double-kick, groove-metal-reminiscent drumming certainly gives listeners more to chew on than the cringeworthy synth-metal of his former band. Yet the actual compositions – and Shomo's wailing scream-influenced vocal style – leave a lot to be desired. It's inevitable a certain demographic will eat this up, yet anyone with any semblance of a critical ear will find boredom and lethargy before any pleasure.
