While in a lesser artist's hands songs as sweetly optimistic as those compiled on Let Love Rule could risk over-earnestness, Roach's work is inescapably genuine. With arrangements that are simple enough to be effective and distinctive enough to lend definition, his rock-solid songwriting is beautiful, uplifting, eloquent and sincere. Thoroughly recommended.
