Album Review: Ani Difranco - Allergic To Wear

StarStarStar

"Laid-back, warm and organic collection of quietly grooving tunes."

More Ani DiFranco Ani DiFranco Profile

Mixed and produced by Ani DiFranco herself, Allergic To Water is a laid-back, warm and organic collection of quietly grooving tunes. There are no real departures from her previous work; the rootsy, rhythmic approach in her vocal delivery and guitar style remain the signature of her writing. It’s an unassuming, likeable record, though it seems to lose a little focus and energy towards the end. See See See See and Woe Be Gone are early highlights, while Genie is a treat with its instrumental moments, and Happy All The Time with its wry humour.
