Anh Do: The Happiest Refugee Alive

"A rollercoaster of emotions."

More Anh Do More Anh Do

Vietnamese-born Anh Do may have comedian, actor, dancer and author on his resume, but the best term to accurately capture his talent is performer. Through honestly telling the story of his poor upbringing and dangerous voyage to Australia as a refugee in his childhood, Do’s set was a rollercoaster of emotions that even had the star pausing to compose himself from time to time.

While his comedy isn’t pushing any boundaries, it was the honesty surrounding his compelling life, coupled with videos of stunts-gone-wrong that made his one-hour set truly engaging.

And he isn’t done yet; he revealed to the audience that Russell Crowe had called him after reading The Happiest Refugee Alive to give praise, which led to the pair committing to turn it into a feature-length film. Do’s resume continues to grow and he doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
