"Refuses to be pigeonholed."

Equal parts tenderness and power, Gold Coast-based singer Amela Duheric has crafted a pop album that simply refuses to be pigeonholed.

Something In Between is a half-hour collection of eight tracks that gives a glimpse into what this young songwriter has in her arsenal. It's an approach taken by predecessors Kate Miller-Heidke and Sia. While the fame that those artists have achieved is a fair way off, songs like All For Love as well as more ambitious, thoughtful tracks like Fall show that Amela has built a steady platform. It will be interesting to see where her career trajectory takes her from here.
