The songs’ power comes from a combination of their thought-provoking ideas and the conviction in their delivery, and this bunch of fist-pumping anthems pack a fairly hefty punch.

The Go-Betweens are as much a national treasure as a Queensland one, and possession of this fantastic overview should be mandatory for discerning music lovers rather than merely recommended.

The quality of the fabric is luxurious, the designers all worthy of watching.

Ultimately, there’s just too much fun to be had by the time the clock stops ticking over.

The album ticks over with meticulous pace, yet is eloquent by degrees – there’s nary a note or vocal out of place. An excellent document of two incredible songwriters revelling in each other’s company.

Mature Themes, however, finally lets the weirdo factor come out on top, seemingly at the expense of the genius ideas that made earlier albums so great.
