Album Review: Velociraptor - The World Warriors

The World Warriors is an apt title as it finds Velociraptor stepping out from the shadow of DZ and onto the big stage in their own right, and the world sure could do with a good party right at the minute.

Album Review: The Presets - Pacifica

All hail the originality of these guys; even if you are not a dance or electronic fan, this album again forces you to respect the recipe of inventiveness from which this is made.

Album Review: Sugar Army - Summertime Heavy

It’s no coincidence that the album is titled for this particular phrase as you get the feeling it was a tough few years for Sugar Army. With a record of this quality though, things should start to get significantly lighter.

Album Review: Peter Black - No Dangerous Gods In Tunnel

Overall, No Dangerous Gods In Tunnel is not only symbolic of how strong Blackie is, but testament to how powerful the Australian music community can be.

Album Review: Various Artists - Nick Cave And Warren Ellis present Lawless OST

Despite being a renaissance man who’s spent the last two decades ‘dabbling’ in all manner of creative expression, Nick Cave can still do things that make you think, ‘Holy shit! How is one dude involved in all these amazing projects?’

Album Review: Lawrence Arabia - The Sparrow

There are a couple of mis-steps here, but they are probably the result of Milne being a little too ambitious on an album that’s good on first listen and keeps getting better.

Album Review: Jeff The Brotherhood - Hypnotic Nights

There is vitality and verve here, no question – it’s the predictability of Hypnotic Nights that hurts the most.

Album Review: Founds - Hadean

Hadean is a strong and beguiling debut, with rare vision and focus that mostly elevates the album over its few inconsistencies.

Album Review: Andy Moor - Zero Point One

This is well-wrought music that, sadly for a genuine talent and notable figure of the uplifting trance scene, fails to make its mark.

Album Review: Animal Collective - Centipede Hz

Centipede HZ finds itself in a strange place between Animal Collective’s older work and the ever-increasing reliance on synths, samples and other electronic paraphernalia.

Album Review: Velociraptor - The World Warriors

It’s not really anything new; the syncopated rhythms and grungy guitar work can be heard from here to Jeff The Brotherhood.

Album Review: The Chariot - 'One Wing'

Controlled yet unpredictable sonic chaos
