The whole shebang is based around Ball’s fine ear for a melody, which remains as strong as ever, but these lines are often filtered into breezy little pop tracks that are content to merely coast along.

It’s rare that every song on an album is single material, but Belle Roscoe have come pretty damn close.

The tempo and anger dials are constantly played with – an early comparison could be made to Melbourne’s White Walls – but this only serves to further the band’s penchant for raucous delineations and textural promiscuity.

The opposite is true. We’ve seen it all before.

While there are some generic traits to the album, you can’t deny its powerful energy.

There are strong moments existing Blige fans will enjoy, but it’s not a classic of the genre, therefore begging the question what exactly she’s doing in the realm of theme albums with name-pun titles.
