Live Review: Album Announcement: Major Lazer ‘Free the Universe’

Fronted by DJ and producer, DIPLO, MAJOR LAZER has been doing some serious damage since their inception in 2009. Damage in a good way, a very good way.

From being sampled by BEYONCE, to helping produce the upcoming album by the one and only SNOOP DOGGY DOGG (ahem.. sorry SNOOP LION), MAJOR LAZER clearly have quite a bit under their belt. After giving us a little sneaky treat in the form of their single ‘Get Free,’ released earlier in the year, it’s only fair that MAJOR LAZER now announce the release of their second album ‘Free the Universe’, set to drop on the 5^th of November this year on Mad Decent/ Downtown/ Cooperative Music.

With DIPLO being the sole executive producer for the new project, ‘Free the Universe’ is set to boast a new path for MAJOR LAZER, pretty exciting shit. With collaborations from a bunch of artists like FLUX PAVILLION, VAMPIRE WEEKEND and even SHAGGY, (yes, Shaggy), this album is going to be stimulating in all the right ways.
