Youth Led Initiative To Be Launched During Leaps & Bounds

Local band Polo Club will play as part of 'Solid Sound'

More Leaps & Bounds festival news continues to pour in - this time, we've got confirmation on a new youth-led initiative that will be launched during the event's run.

Bean Bag Productions, who are dedicated to bringing live music and cultural events to the Yarra city community, will debut 'Solid Sound' on Thursday 11 July at the Fitzroy Town Hall. The aim is to showcase some emerging local talent and the headliner will be Polo Club, who are a mix of indie, hip hop and electro and have already played at the likes of Parkilfe and Good Vibrations in the past.

Entry to 'Solid Sound' is simple - just donate towards the event and you could be there. Check out more details here.

In other news relating to the inaugural festival, which is proudly presented by theMusic.com.au, Melbourne band Perico will headline a special show in honour of the late Sally Issac. Leaps & Bounds is dedicated to Sally, who made a large contribution to the Yarra community through her work at the local council.

The gig will be held at The Empress Hotel, North Fitzroy on Friday 19 July. Tickets will be $10 at the door and all proceeds will go towards the Sally Issac Memorial Fund.

The festival takes place from Friday 5 to Sunday 21 July.
