Young Thug Confirmed For Laneway 2017

“We challenged ourselves pretty intensely this year, and hopefully the results show.”

In an effort to take Laneway to the next level, the festival has confirmed acclaimed Atlanta rapper Young Thug will join next year’s bill for his first ever Australian appearances.

Making the “gigantic announcement” at Melbourne’s 1000 £ Bend this evening, Laneway's Jerome Borazio said they had been chasing the Georgia talent for a while and have finally locked him down.

“We’re not in the business of announcing things at this late stage…but it just turned out perfect,” Borazio said.

Young Thug, aka Jeffery Lamar Williams, dropped his No, My Name Is Jeffery mixtape in August, featuring the likes of Travis Scott, Wyclef Jean and joins Tame Impala, Nick Murphy, Camp Cope, AB Original and more on Laneway 2017, with no sideshow appearances.

The latest addition to the festival follows DD Dumbo being added last week and accompanies the food and drink menu announcement, which will see a number of local vendors sign on in each state.

“We challenged ourselves pretty intensely this year, and hopefully the results show,” Borazio said.
