Yellowcard didn’t perform at Bar On The Hill in Newcastle last night (11 April) due to illness. However, special guests Motion City Soundtrack and Plain White T’s still performed for fans.
Yellowcard are currently touring Australia to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their fourth album, Ocean Avenue.
In a statement from tour promoters Destroy All Lines, it was revealed that tickets purchased for last night’s show remained valid despite the changes, and punters would receive a partial refund, making their tickets worth $49.90. Punters who didn’t make it to the show would receive a 100% refund.
While Yellowcard pulling out of their Newcastle show is devastating, the band shared some good news: they’ll perform two special shows in Sydney next week to make up for this week’s cancellation at the Hordern Pavilion.
Sydney fans can now see Yellowcard at Liberty Hall on Tuesday, 15, and Wednesday, 16 April. Tickets will be available today at 2 pm local time via Moshtix. Hello everyone. Day three of trying to beat whatever this is and I just haven’t been able to shake it. I’ve tested negative for Covid, flu, and RSV, but my symptoms have persisted to the point where the risk of damaging my voice further is too high right now so it is with much regret I have to tell you guys I can’t perform in Newcastle tonight.
The good news is I’ve been on vocal rest the entire time and knowing my voice and body as well as I do through 25 years of touring, I am confident that I will be ready for our show in Brisbane on Sunday, and to make up for Sydney with two special intimate shows on Tuesday 15 April and Wednesday 16 April at Liberty Hall.
As always I am grateful for your patience and understanding. This is the worst feeling imaginable as a performer and a vocalist. I promise I’m doing everything I can to finish this tour strong.
