The sax legend will play the east coast shows

Joining the already acclaimed band lineup of JC Carroll, Rat Scabies and Chris Payne, The Members' lost member and saxophone legend Rudi Thompson has been tracked and added to the punk rockers forthcoming east coast tour dates.

Known as a member of London's X-Ray Spex before also joining The Members, Steve “Rudi” Thompson has been living in New South Wales, The Member's JC Carroll explaining how his addition adds so much more to their lineup.

"We are Glad to announce after an exhaustive search we have finally tracked down the "lost Member" Rudi Thomson in NSW,” Carroll said.

“Rudi was one of the most prominent Australians in the Early London Punk Scene playing sax first with Peroxide Romance then joining X Ray Spex before joining The Members.

“Rudi is living in Australia and has agreed to come out of retirement to join the lads on their  2013 Australian Tour. This is going to be very special. Not only is Rudi a seminal part of the early scene he is also a great guy to party with.”

The tour's local supports have also been announced, seeing The Go Set joining The Bennies in Melbourne, Perdition rock Adelaide's ED Castle show with fellow kick offs The Systemaddicts and The Labrats, Nundah fans receive Goldstool and The Funaddicts, Riot Nine and Everything I Own Is Broken opening the Sydney show and The Lungs, The New Husseins and Them Sharks in the final show in Perth.

Formed in 1977, UK outfit The Members had two big hits in Australia in the early '80s with Working Girl and the recently-remixed Radio, reaching number four on the charts Down Under, and recently, the band added The Damned founding member Rat Scabies and rocked stages at Glastonbury, Isle Of Wight and on tour with new wave outfit The B-52's.

The band announced their Australian November dates last month, Rudi Thompson only scheduled to play on the east coast dates of the tour.
