The event returns to Melbourne this June
Melbourne's WIlliamstown Literary Festival is less than a month away, and if you're still umming and ahhing about attending, perhaps you'd be keen to know that there's some pretty great music-themed content on the cards in the form of the Stereo Stories session.
Stereo Stories features a range of writers, including Andy Griffiths, Markus Zusak, Stephen Andrew, Maria Majsa, Lucia Nardo, Chris Phillips, Luke R Davies and Darren 'Smokie' Dawson — backed by the nine-piece Stereo Stories Band — narrating short memoirs inspired by everything from Aussie rock to Chicago blues, as well as music icons Neil Young, Elliott Smith, Van Morrison and more.
Several of the writers — including Griffiths, Majsa, Davies and Andrew, who is a founder of the Stereo Stories Band — are previous guests of the session, having written a varying number of yarns for the event in previous years. It's shaping up to be a typically popular attraction, too, with cabaret seating at the Williamstown Town Hall already sold out, though balcony seating is still available.
Drinks will be available via the bar (cash only), though if you're wanting to snack on something, you'll have to bring that yourself.

Stereo Stories will be hosted by Williamstown writer Vin Maskell, and it all goes down on 17 June. Check out the session's page for further booking details, and listen to Zusak's story, based on Neil Young's Crime In The City, below.
