John Wardle to oversee the Task Force
The Wollongong City Council has appointed its ten-strong Live Music Task Force, which is made up of live music stakeholders from throughout the community.
After indicating in March that they would endeavour to keep live music as a feature of the city's nightlife, the council brought in live music campaigner John Wardle to oversee and guide the taskforce. They will also consult with Chairperson Councillor Ann Martin, Councillor Vicki Curran, Councillor John Dorahy, Councillor Bede Crasnich, Councillor Leigh Colacino and a NSW police representative.
The taskforce is made up of:

Carlie Carroll (Oscars Hotel – Operations Manager)
Jessie Hunt (live music advocate) Live Music advocate
Phil Slater (musician, and tertiary educator)
Jeb Taylor (Music Farmers – booking agent, promoter)
Michelle Hanley (musician, festival promoter)
Shaun Prince (live music consultant)
Neil Roswell (Illawarra Folk Festival – Operations Manager, musician)
Simon Leamon (production manager and creative director)
Peter Langstaff (musician and community radio presenter)

“This is a taskforce which will provide advice and collect information for Council,” said Wollongong City Council Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery. “They will provide recommendations on the best way to encourage and promote live music for a vibrant night time in the city.”
