Iconic Australian hard rock band Wolfmother celebrate 20 years of their self-titled debut album this year, announcing a special 20th anniversary show in May where fans will hear the album played in full for the first time ever.
Led by vocalist and guitarist Andrew Stockdale, Wolfmother has amassed a diehard worldwide fanbase over the course of their career. The band have spent two decades packing out venues all around the world and taking the cake as standout live acts on some of the most star-studded festival lineups including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Splendour In The Grass, Fuji Rock and more.
The band have also shared stages with fellow rock icons AC/DC, Guns’n’Roses, Foo Fighters, and Sex Pistols, solidifying their status as rockstars among their forerunners.
Wolfmother’s global impact has also led them to be personally invited to perform at Led Zeppelin’s induction into the UK Music Hall of Fame. It goes without saying that the band’s musical footprint is historic, and their stamp continues to generate waves across the globe.
Their 2006 debut self-titled album Wolfmother went certified Gold in the USA, Germany, Canada and 5x Platinum in Australia. The album’s lead single Woman reached the top ten on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks Chart, taking home a Grammy award for Best Hard Rock Performance.
Soon after, their songs would find a home in blockbuster films, soundtracking scenes in Iron Man 3, Spiderman 3, Jackass and The Hangover 1 & 2, featuring in video games like Guitar Hero, Gran Turismo, Tony Hawk’s P8, Shaun White’s Skateboarding and a handful of television commercials for Apple, Mitsubishi, Honda and Peugeot.
