PREMIERE: Hear Willy Mason's New Single

He's out here with Mumford & Sons next week

More Willy Mason Willy Mason

Before he makes his way back to Australia to open shows on the massive Mumford & Sons tour, as well as playing their very awesome Gentlemen Of The Road festival and a couple of intimate solo dates, American folk singer-songwriter Willy Mason has unveiled his first new music in quite some time.

You can stream his new single I Got Gold on theMusic.com.au right now; the song is a short but very sweet slice of Americana that rolls along with a kind of jolly gait from start to finish. It's heavily rhthmic with little synth flourishes that weave in and out as Mason powers over the top with his impressive voice.

Have a listen here:

The song is taken from his third record - and first in five years - Carry On,will be released in Australia on Friday 30 November through Fiction Records/Universal. The record is said to be the culmination of a loose narrative that Mason kicked off with his sensational debutWhere The Humans Eatback in 2004, a narrative he says is based on himself.

If you're not catching him with Mumford & Sons, you can see him play the following solo dates.

Monday 22 October - The Vanguard, Sydney
Wednesday 24 October - The Toff in Town, Melbourne
