The Masked Singer Australia returns to our screens tonight (11 September) with a series of trailers expertly hardly giving anything away ahead of its premiere on Channel 10 and 10 play.

Ahead of the 2023 season, a singer in a kangaroo mask sings the John Farnham classic, You’re The Voice. The vocalist sounds nothing like Farnham but has a big, bright voice that has punters wondering who’d be brave enough to take on such an iconic song in Australia.

Listening to the voice in the trailer, we’re thinking of Conrad Sewell or Nick Carter of Backstreet Boys fame.

The Masked Singer Australia social media accounts have shared further teasers in recent weeks. Viewers will witness singers Bluebottle, Space Fairy, Snow Fox, Cowgirl, Bouncer, Grim Reaper, Crash Test Dummy, Fawn, Tiny and Bad Avocado and guess who they’re watching alongside judges Mel B (of the Spice Girls, of course), Chrissie Swan, Dave Hughes and Abbie Chatfield.

Other common guesses for the Masked Singers swirling on social media include Mel B’s peer, Emma Bunton, Conrad Sewell, Jessica Mauboy, Savage Garden vocalist Darren Hayes, and more. You can watch some of the teasers below.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Australian icon Tina Arena made it all the way to the semi-final of The Masked Singer France as the Carnivorous Plant.

Sharing a few photos from The Masked Singer France, including her unmasking, Arena wrote, “Surprise!! What a pleasure to be on the Masked Singer France!”

Her appearance on the global masked singing series followed former Bon Jovi guitarist and backing vocalist Richie Sambora featuring on The Masked Singer in the UK. He was unmasked as Jacket Potato.

While on the show, Sambora stunned judges and audiences alike with his renditions of Viva Las Vegas by Elvis PresleyHallelujah by Leonard CohenFleetwood Mac's Go Your Own Way, and John Newman's Love Me Again as his final song.

The Masked Singer Australia premieres tonight on Channel 10 and 10 play at 7:30 pm AEST.
