Australian music legend Tina Arena made it all the way to the semi-final of The Masked Singer France, and as one does when they’re eliminated from the show, the Carnivorous Plant was unmasked to reveal Tina Arena.

On the semi-final, she performed The Wind Will Carry Us by Sophie Hunger. While there is no video on YouTube yet and we can’t watch the performance on the French TF1 website, knowing Arena’s vocals, we’re sure she smashed it.

Arena dropped the news on social media this morning. Sharing a few photos from The Masked Singer France, including her unmasking, she wrote, “Surprise!! What a pleasure to be on the Masked Singer France!”

Earlier this year, another famous musician appeared on an iteration of The Masked Singer. Ex-Bon Jovi guitarist and backing vocalist Richie Sambora was unmasked as Jacket Potato on the UK version of the show.

While on the show, Sambora stunned judges and audiences alike with his renditions of Viva Las Vegas by Elvis Presley, Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen, Fleetwood Mac's Go Your Own Way and John Newman's Love Me Again as his final song.

Sambora said upon his elimination and unmasking, per NME: "I love being a guitar player and a songwriter. And, of course, I’m very privileged and honoured to have had so much success and the accolades of being a Grammy winner, an Ivor Novello Award winner and a Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and Songwriters Hall Of Fame inductee, but what I really love to do is sing!"

He added, "My hiatus from Bon Jovi and the Covid impact on my solo touring meant I could only do one thing, which is make a new record until I saw The Masked Singer! I loved it, and it was a lot of fun to watch it at a time where due to lockdowns and being forced to be at home, the world was a little quieter than it had been since Bon Jovi kicked off 37 years ago."

In other Tina Arena news, she’s releasing her new single, House, next Friday. Dubbed “the beginning of a brand new chapter,” any time we get to experience new Tina Arena music is a good time.

House will follow the previously released single, Church, which was Arena’s first song in five years. Church showcased her unmistakable voice and was recorded with Duran Duran’s Andy Taylor on guitar and Swedish powerhouse Mattias Lindblom in the producer’s seat.
