It's finally time for those aspiring Djs and Producers to get a mixin' and get a clickin', because today's the day WEMC opens its doors to uncover the next best thing!
The contest is coming to Australian shores after very successful run in Europe, with the winning contestants landing some sweet gigs in some of the world's best dance music hubs, including Dubai, Ibiza and Las Vegas. They've also gained invaluable exposure that will no doubt help carve out their future path in the music industry.
But now its the Aussies chance to show the world what we're made of, and expose the fantastic scene that's burgeoning across the country!
The contest will be judged by some of the biggest names in Australian dance music. Aden Mullens - head A&R figurehead of etcetc, producer Kilter, SCNDL, Ben Feggans and Ministry of Sound's Dylan Sanders. They'll be mulling over the finalists work and deciding who's to be Australia's next breakout electronic music star.
Other than some of the most influential and powerful voices in the scope of dance music listening to your music, there are also some sweet prizes up for grabs. The winner is set to get studio time and top tier music studio facility studio 301, play at Pacha Sydney and abroad, get a music release on Ministry of Sound and load of new toys from Native Instruments.
Before you start creating and submitting your work (which can simply be done by hopping onto the Fame Music page, and uploading your track), take a little bit of inspiration from Kilter - the young producer that's taken the Australia by storm. Triple J adored and a staple at any great aussie music fest, his musical output on etcetc has been an exemplary example of what can come out of spending days on end sampling youtube clips and making beats.
So with that, go forth, create and enter the WEMC contest for your chance to take your bedroom recordings to the big leagues.
