'Y DYDD OLAFF' is coming!
Welsh musician, dancer and radio presenter Gwenno has announced her first ever Australian tour this morning, as she brings last year's acclaimed Y DYDD OLAFF down under.
Having performed for years in British pop act The Pipettes as well as toured with Pnau and Elton John, Gwenno sings in Welsh and Cornish about politics, feminism and cultural changes.
Having come from a Welsh/Cornish-speaking background, Gwenno says, "A language dies every two weeks and with that language dies a whole history of people. Those are things that connect you with the past. They are man and woman’s way of communicating and telling stories."
Gwenno's tour will stop by Perth and Sydney this October, with a Melbourne date still to be announced. She'll also play Camp Doogs Festival in WA.
