We may be looking at a Weezer renaissance
Veteran alt-rock luminaries Weezer have unveiled the next piece of their Everything Will Be Alright In The End dripfeed, lifting the lid on new track Cleopatra as the latest morsel of new material from their forthcoming ninth studio full-length before its October release.
Like Back To The Shack before it, the new cut has been met with much warmer feelings than pretty much anything Weezer put out after Pinkerton but before this year, with allusions being drawn to material from releases even as far back as The Blue Album.

Everything Will Be Alright In The End is scheduled to drop on October 7 in the States, making its likely release date in Australia either the Friday before or after that. It had previously been slated for an end-of-September release, but the band were recently forced to push that back to next month.

"We have to release EWBAITE one week later than planned, on Oct 7," the band explained on Tumblr. "This is a bummer and we really hate to make our fans wait longer. We worked very hard to finish the album on time for you, so we’re really sorry about this and hope you understand."
We've waited nearly twenty years for another better-than-passable Weezer record; we can wait a little longer, especially given the previews we've seen so far.
