Drake made a surprise appearance in a Melbourne karaoke bar on Saturday (1 February), performing a string of tracks for a lucky crowd.
With his long-awaited Anita Max Win tour kicking off in Perth tomorrow night (4 February), Drake warmed up his vocal cords at the new Melbourne hotspot, Maison Bâtard’s Le Club. Performing for approximately 100 guests in the intimate, no-phones venue, Drake reportedly played a full-length, 90-minute surprise set.
For the surprise performance, Drake performed tracks including Pipe Down, Rich Baby Daddy, Faithful, and Trust Issues, all of which he shared snippets on his Instagram.
The Melbourne venue officially opened on 31 December 2024. In an interview with the Herald Sun, its owner, Chris Lucas, couldn’t “confirm or deny” that “a private concert took place” and added that experiences like the recent one encapsulate the spirit of Melbourne.
“This is what Melbourne is all about — creating some of the best world-class spaces that people can come to from all over the world,” Lucas said. “A lot of toil and hard work went into building Maison Batard and particularly the Le Club.”
