“You know I killed that shit."
Denzel Curry has stunned fans yet again, heading over to perform at NPR's Tiny Desk Concert. The series has already become legendary and has become known as a platform for popular rappers to re-present their songs with live instrumentation wrapped in laid back gloss.
The South Florida rapper has taken this ethos to a whole new level, reconfiguring a range of his tracks throughout his illustrious discography with a his nine-piece Cold-Blooded Soul Band for a six track set. The performance ranged four years of music and featured song from four albums.
The band features a guitar, keyboard, drum kit, congas, brass and bass who performed and opened the show with three songs from his most recent body of work which released earlier this year in March, Melt My Eyez See Your Future. It included Melt Session #1, Walkin (with Curry's long time collaborator DJ Poshtronaut lending a hand on vocals) and Troubles.
Curry continues on to perform DIET_ from his 2020 collaborative EP UNLOCKED with Kenny Beats, fan favourite CLOUT COBAIN | CLOUT CO13A1N from 2018's TA13OO before closing with lead single from his 2019 album ZULU, RICKY.
“We We low key breezed through this bitch! That’s great for two rehearsals, like goddamn,” he said before closing the performance out with Ricky.
“We gotta go out with a bang now. Let’s get this shit.”
