Watch A One-Armed Busker Totally Nail Jimi Hendrix's 'Voodoo Child'

Two-armed guitar playing is for chumps

As if there wasn't already an excessive number of videos on YouTube showcasing upsettingly talented musical prodigies, along comes Marc Swafford, who not only does a bitchin' version of Jimi Hendrix's Voodoo Child, but does so with only one arm.

The video was originally uploaded to the footage-streaming site in late December, and has gained steady momentum to the point of virality this week — though whether it's due to Swafford's hypnotic, impressive fingerboard work, his raw, authentically gruff drawl, or the cameraman's occasional, supportive vocal intrusions ("Sick!", "YEAH!", "Wow, bro,") is hard to say.

It's probably the fucking mad one-armed guitar work, though.

As it turns out, Swafford isn't your run-of-the-mill busker — he also fronts two-piece heavy metal outfit Mahamawaldi, in which he consistently demonstrates the kind of dexterity control and playing technique that leaves most double-armed players in the dust. We salute you, Marcus Swafford. Keep on keepin' on, you glorious beast.
