Tame Impala, Spacey Jane & More Win Big At WAMAwards

Some of WA’s best emerging and established artists took the spotlight last night as part of the state’s 2020 WAMAwards ceremony.

The event at Perth’s historic His Majesty’s Theatre saw Spacey Jane pick up four awards, including Best Pop Act, Most Popular Act, Best Single (Booster Seat) and Best Album (Sunlight).

Psych-rock juggernaut Tame Impala, who closed the evening with a special full band performance, also picked up Best Album with Slow Rush, while Grace Barbé was awarded Best Global Music Act, Best Vocalist and Best Bassist.

The coveted 2020 Golden WAMi went to RTRFM’s Will Backler, while Paul McCarthy, who passed away last year, was inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside Fitzroy Xpress.
