More Wallows More Wallows

Wallows have announced their hotly awaited return to Australia, slating five shows on the itinerary for this December.

The stint will kick off in Perth (Boorloo) on Thursday December 5, when the LA alt-rockers take over the Fremantle Arts Centre. They’ll go on to play the Entertainment Centre in Adelaide (Kaurna) that Saturday (December 7), before rolling o through to Melbourne (Naarm, Monday December 9 at Margaret Court Arena), Sydney (Eora, Monday December 9 at the Hordern Pavilion), and lastly Brisbane (Meanjin, Saturday December 14 at the Riverstage).

Tickets for all five shows go on sale at 9:30am local time next Thursday (March 28), following a Frontier presale that kicks off at the same time next Monday (March 25) and runs for 36 hours. Head here for more info on both sales.

In a press release, Wallows said of their impending return Down Under: “We played some of our favourite shows to date on our first visit to Australia and New Zealand. Can’t wait to finally be back and in even more cities this time.”

The tour comes in support of Wallows’ upcoming third studio album, Model, which is due out on May 24 via Atlantic. Our first preview of the record came last month with the release of lead single Your Apartment, with our second preview arriving today (March 22) in the form of Calling After Me.

“We like that Calling After Me is pretty fun and light on its feet for a Wallows song,” the band said in another group statement. “We’re excited for people to hear it and [to] play it live this summer.”

Reviewing their last Melbourne show in November of 2022, Michael Prebeg wrote for TheMusic.com.au: “The energy is electric, from the front of the mosh pit all the way to the back of the theatre; the place is alive, with everyone shouting the lyrics on every track and bouncing along to the charming, sun-soaked indie rock with plenty of hand-clap moments.”
