WA’s Odlaw Announce Tour To Celebrate Guitarist Surviving Heart Attack

8 July 2016 | 3:26 pm | Staff Writer

"The doctors said a virus had attacked my heart.”

Preparing to drop a new record, WA-based indie rockers Odlaw have revealed that guitarist Mark Neal was admitted to hospital last month after suffering a heart attack.

The news follows a single launch in March for Regret City’s lead single, Coyote, and has been accompanied by a run of WA dates under the banner The I Survived A Heart Attack, Maybe Tour.

“It felt like what a heart attack looks like in the movies, there was a weight on my chest and my left arm went numb,” Neal said.

“The nurses were getting ready to let me go after a couple of hours in the ER, when a test result came back positive. A few hours later I’m being woken up at 4am and someone’s telling me I had a heart attack. They let me go three days later, the doctors said a virus had attacked my heart.”

Odlaw’s winter tour kicks off Friday 16 July at Prince Of Wale, Bunbury and will hit Scarborough, Albany and RTRFM’s massive Radiothon Party before wrapping with a solo set from Neal himself at Defectors Bar in August.
