Following news last month that Virgin Music would be making a comeback via Universal Music Group rebranding Caroline International, the Australian division of the iconic label has launched.
Universal Music Australia has now announced that Virgin Music Label And Artist Services, “built from the foundations of the highly respected Caroline Australia team”, launches today.
The new division will be helmed by Timothy Janes, who has been appointed Managing Director, while Sam Cross and Ella Symons are promoted Senior Label Managers, and Claire Tate moves into the newly created position of Marketing and Audience Manager.
Additionally, Lachlan Duthie signs on as Label Coordinator, alongside Media and Promotions Managers Juliette Younger and Jodie Grinsted.
“We are excited to form a new integral part of UMG’s new global distribution and services division,” Janes said.
“Our team in Australia has a genuine passion for partnering with and servicing the best and most innovative independent artists and labels from around the world. With the new team in place, we are energised for our biggest year yet, and I cannot wait for this new chapter to begin.”

Virgin Music Australia’s roster boasts the likes of Catfish & The Bottlemen, Mac DeMarco, SG Lewis, Iggy Pop, Denzel Curry, St Vincent, The Offspring, Rise Against and stacks more.
This year it’s expected the label will help launch new music from local acts like Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, You Am I, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Alex Lahey, CW Stoneking and more.
